Feb. 9: NCAA b-ball
Football season is behind us (thought I like the AFC to cover the 3-point spread vs. the NFC in Sunday's Pro Bowl if you don't think betting that game makes you a degenerate) so my focus now turns to basketball. I've been betting some games here and there but it's hard to post them as I usually make my decisions are seeing what the marketplace is doing and don't often bet until right before tipoff. However, I'll try to at least post my Saturday plays as those are the biggest cards with the most choices.
For what it's worth, my ViewFromVegas entry in the Leroy's College Challenge is 20-15 ATS through five weeks of the 10-week contest and I'm tied for 17th place:
South Florida +6.5 vs. DePaul
Houston PK vs Tulane
Iowa St. +6.5 vs. Texas
Nebraska -4.5 vs. Texas Tech
Mississippi +6 vs. Arkansas
Utah -3 vs. Air Force
UTEP +7 vs. UAB
(Note: in the Leroy's contest, I've got better numbers on some of the games because those lines are locked in, but I've always believed in being truthful with readers and don't want to give out spreads that they can't get themselves. I would still play at the above number but no worse)
(Second note: I was having problems posting this blog this morning, so I apologize the first game is less than half an hour away -- 11 a.m. Vegas time. As I did this morning and I will do if this problem happens again, I'll be sure to post the plays in the sports forum at ViewFromVegas.com -- no hyperlink is being provided because that was part of the problem with the blog earlier).
